Food containers come in lots of interesting shapes and sizes that can be used to make fun things. Have you noticed how a peach basket looks rather like a caterpillar? Just a bit a paint and you've got a lovely creepy crawly.

Caterpillars come in all sorts of funky colours, so be creative when it comes to painting. I would recommend using three colours, a primary (main body), secondary (connecting parts), and tertiary (tips) to add contrast without looking overly busy.

Paint the main body of the peach basket, and then fill in the corners with a contrasting colour.

Paint the bumps a third colour. It is best to use a fast drying. If your paint is slow to dry, I would suggest waiting between each colour so that they don't mix.

Paint a face on your caterpillar.
