This chick wants a cuddle

Pom pom Easter chicks are cute, fluffy and make a lovely decoration for Easter. Older children can get involved making the pom poms and younger ones can help with creating them into the chicks.

Time: 15 minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Medium

Materials
2 yellow pom poms (one larger than the other)
Googly eyes
White cardboard
2 craft feathers
Red and orange felt tip pen
Glue

Method
Tie the smaller pom pom on top of the larger one or glue together. The smaller one will be the head of your chick and the larger one the body.

Stick on the googly eyes. Alternatively you can just use small circles of white paper and draw a black dot for the pupil.

Cut your cardboard into a diamond shape.
Colour one side of the diamond orange and the other red.
Fold the diamond in half to create the beak and glue at the centre fold to the chick. The orange should be on the outside and the red on the inside.

Stick a feather in either side of the body for wings

My son painted a paper plate green to give the chick somewhere pleasant to rest. You could even make lots of these and hang them from a branch to create a decorative tree for Easter.
