These light sabers are soft (safe!) and inexpensive; perfect to make for a Star Wars birthday party. Add in the storm trooper balloons and you have yourself your own balloon party game!
Time: 10 minutes for one light saber and 1 balloon
Age: Under 5's, 5-10's
Level: Easy
Materials
Knife (A long blade knife works well)
Coloured electrical tape (if desired)
Method
Cut a pool noodle in half. I used an old bread knife and it worked great.
Cover one end of the noodle with two pieces of silver duct tape to start the handle. Make a “t” to get the best coverage.
Start wrapping your duct tape around the noodle. Make as many wraps as you need to get the handle to your desired length.
Using the black electrical tape, get creative with light saber designs! If you wish you could also use different colours of electrical tape for this.
Cut a red piece of electrical tape for the switch.
Blow up your white balloons.
Draw on your storm trooper face with the black sharpie. Pick an easy design, the balloons will likely pop at some point in the game!
THE GAME
Using your light saber noodles, try to keep the storm trooper balloon off the ground! See how hard you can hit the balloon or try to bat the balloon between yourself and a partner! Have a blast and may the force be with you!
