Jars of buttons can be found at thrift stores and dollar stores which can be glued onto paper or card to make decorative pictures.

My 5 year old son and I had a go at making a seahorse button art piece, we also added craft gems and sequins.

Time: 30 minutes
Age: Any Age (younger children may need some assistance)
Level: Medium

Materials

Buttons / gems / sequins
A5 blue card
PVA glue
Black pen
Recycled cardboard (I used a cereal box)
Paintbrush (for glue)

Method
Create your seahorse (or other) template by either drawing freehand onto the back of your recycled cardboard, or you could print out a seahorse shape (from Google images) onto paper, cut out and stick onto your recycled cardboard.
Cut out your template with scissors.

Draw around your template with black pen onto your blue A5 blue card background

Paint PVA glue in patches and start gluing your buttons and other embellishments. My son had the idea to add buttons for bubbles.

Leave to dry
