This is an unusual way to make some unique jewellery. You can use popsicle (lollipop) sticks or pick up some extra wooden coffee mixer sticks from a coffee shop.

Time: 1 hour plus drying time
Age: Over 10's
Level: Hard

Coffee mixer sticks will make skinny bracelets and popsicle sticks will make thicker ones

Materials
Wooden coffee mixer sticks or popsicle sticks
Water
Mugs or glasses
Thin paper eg decoupage paper or acrylic paint
PVA glue

Method
Boil the sticks in water for 40 minutes until they have softened and are easy to bend. Alternatively, you can leave them to soak in water overnight. I found that boiling them was the easiest way.

When they are soft enough, gently bend them and place into a glass or mug.
Press the stick into the cup so that it takes the shape.

The sticks will expand a little when you paint or glue them so use a cup a little smaller than you want your final bracelet to be

Leave to fully dry
Remove from the cup and your bracelet is ready to decorate.

You can simple paint your bracelets with acrylic paint and you could even stick on small sequins or why not try some decoupage.
If you want to decoupage, use thin paper, tissue or specialist decoupage paper. I used this pretty heart pattern from decopatch.

Decopatch sell a wide range of decoupage products

Use PVA glue or specialist decoupage glossy glue.
Paint part of your bracelet and then place on a piece of paper.

Smooth it down from the inside out, and brush a little more glue over the top.
Leave to dry and you have some beautiful bracelets.
