Your little policeman or policewoman will love this easy to make hat that they can use to role play with. We were making Janine's Fireman Hat when my son said that he wanted to make a policeman's hat, so off we went! He loves to wear it when he is playing with his Lego of the same theme.

Time: 10 minutes
Age: Under 5's, 5-10's
Level: Easy

Materials
Cereal box (large cardboard box)
Blue & yellow construction paper
Black fuzzy felt
Black felt pen and/or black crayon
Glue stick
Sticky tape
Tape measure
Scissors

Method
Measure your child's head with the measuring tape.
Open up the cardboard box and lay flat on the table.

Mark the head measurement on the box and cut a 5 cm thick strip (add an extra 4 cm to the length so that it can be taped properly).
Colour the band using the black felt pen or crayon.

Put the ends together and fasten with tape.

Draw the outline of a police hat on the blue construction paper.

Cut it out.
Add glue onto the bottom backside of the police hat and stick to the band.

Draw a police badge on the yellow construction paper and add whatever text you would like (we used "Police - Lego City").

Cut it out.
Paste it on the front of the police hat.

Cut a 2 cm thick strip of black fuzzy felt and glue onto the front of the police hat as a visor.
