Puff Pastry Mince Pies

This is the perfect Christmas baking activity to do with kids of all ages. Puff pastry gives them a lighter quality and they are sure to be enjoyed by all the family at Christmas.

Time: 15 minutes preparation and 15 minutes baking
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry
200g luxury sweet mincemeat
1 egg white
Demerara sugar

Method
Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
Use a small glass or pastry cutter to cut circles of pastry.

Use a shallow pastry tin and place a circle in each hole.

Add a large heaped teaspoon in each pastry circle.
Brush the edges of the pastry circles with egg white.
Add a pastry circle to the top of each mince pie.
Pinch the edges of the cases together.
Make a hole in the top of each mince pie and sprinkle with sugar.

Pop in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes in the tin before removing to cool further on a wire rack.
