Recycle challenge: What can I make with this old yoga mat?

Recycle (13)      Foam (5)      Question (2)      Rubber (1)

yoga mat, recycle yoga mat, recycle exercise mat, what to make out of foam mat, rubber mat, foam mat, upcycling

We've been clearing out the garage and this old yoga mat ended up in the "throw out" pile.

What fun thing could we make with it instead?

I was thinking of cutting it up and using the foam to make giant animal footprint shapes to dip in paint and print with.

Please share your ideas here.

Oh that's a good question. Like your idea of giant animal footprints! You could also cut it into stars, angels, snowflakes etc, paint them and add glitter, then hang them as Christmas tree or garland decorations? You could use cookie cutters as templates.
I think your yoga mat is asking to be made into fish to float in the bath or maybe some zany drink coasters... or on a practical level, it would make a great carpet underlay or lining for a small garden pond.

Lay it over a weedy area in your garden. Leave it there for several weeks , and kill off all those difficult weeds before you plant some vegetable seeds. Keep an eye out for interesting mini beasts .
