It's made of the most basic recycling items but this old-fashioned train is quite effective. Plus, the use of a tissue box means a toy can easily slip inside and act as conductor.

Age: Under 5's, 5-10's
Level: Easy

Materials

Tissue box

Two toilet paper rolls

Cotton wool

Sticky tape

Scissors

Markers

Method

Create wheels by colouring in a toilet paper roll and cutting it into quarters.

Stick a quarter to each corner of the base of the tissue box.

Make a series of small cuts around the top of the second toilet paper roll. Splay them out.

Tape the second roll to the front of the top of the box and stick some cotton wool in it for smoke.

Colour or decorate your tissue box if neccessary.
