Sesame Street Face Paint
Many children don't enjoy getting their whole face painted, and can't sit still for the time it takes for a longer design to be completed. These little cheek or hand arts are just perfect for children who want to have a little bit of the face painting fun but without having to sit still for long periods of time. All you need to do is choose who your favourite is, Elmo or Cookie Monster?

Materials
Face paint - for Elmo you need: Red, Black, White, Brown for Cookie Monster you will need: Blue, White and Black.
A round brush. I used a #2 round brush and a smaller detail brush for the eyes, but you can get away with just one small brush for both designs.

Method
Elmo
Start off by creating two small circles of white for the eyes.
These eyes will be the base for your design
Under the eye create a brown/beige oval for the nose.
Around the eyes and nose brush out a halo of red to create Elmo's full head of furry hair.
Create a red afro for Elmo
I tend to not put red above the eyes, and use this as my cut off point.
Elmo is nearly complete. All you need to do now is just add the smile and the black dots for his eyes.
Happy Elmo
Cookie Monster
Similar to Elmo, start off by creating the white circles for Cookie Monster's eyes.
Create the eyes and the head outline
Around the eyes, make an outline of where the blue fur will go to.
Fill in the outline with lots of blue brush strokes.
Cookie Monster is nearly there
Once the fur of the head is complete, you just need to add in a wide smile and some crazy eyes. Try to make your eye dots a little off centre as Cookie Monster is renowned for his crazy eyes (after eating too many cookies).
Finally add a black outline to the base of this fur and some eye brows.
These designs would be just perfect for an Elmo or Sesame Street party.
