Even Teddy loves a party hat
Little party hats add to the atmosphere at any birthday. This is an enjoyable activity that can be done at the start of the party with kids making their own personalised party hat. The trick is to have everything prepared and laid out in advance.
Time: 15 minutes plus time to let the glue dry while kids are playing party games
Age: Under 5s and 5-10's
Level: Easy
Materials
Glitter, pieces of coloured paper, foil, crayons, glitter glue or anything you like to decorate
Method
Cut the card to an almost semi circle with a flap as in the picture and cut some lengths of wool.

Cut the card into an almost semi circle with a flap in advance
Kids can now have lots of fun decorating their party hat.

Scribble, glue, stick and glitter as much as you like
Glue or staple some strips of tissue paper to the centre edge of the almost semi circle.

The strips of tissue paper make the party hat extra fun
Glue along the flap and fold the party hat round like a cone then stick down.

You will need to hold the hat closed for a moment or too until you're sure the glue has started sticking
Leave to dry then staple on the wool to make a chin strap.
