Sock Puppets
Socks, socks everywhere. Most families will have heaps of socks in their homes. How annoying are they when they go hard from too much wear or they get holes in them, fade or lose their partner. Instead of throwing these socks out why not use them to make some groovy puppets with your kids!

Method
Collect some old washed socks. Choose which sock you would like to use and what type of puppet you would like to make.
Decide what you need to make your puppet like facial features etc. I made a dog so, I needed a button for the nose, two buttons for the eyes and two bits of felt for the ears. Here's how I made it.
Cut out two dog shape ears from a black piece of felt. They were about 4x4cm each.
Next sew, glue or draw on the eyes, ears, nose etc.
(adult supervision is needed for sewing)
Decorate your puppet however you like. You could use textas or markers to draw spots or stripes.
Now slide the sock over your hand and your puppet is ready to go.
Choose a voice, character and name for your puppet. Get really creative by making more puppets.
Try using baby socks to make baby puppets or what about using socks that are a cool colour or have a bright pattern on them. The possibilities are endless!
You could make up a little puppet show to perform for your family and friends. You can use your puppets over and over again.
