Something Fishy

Here's a fun activity for your next swimming or mermaid party. These simple fruit and cream cheese biscuits can be decorated by each child to add some healthy, crafty treats to their party feast. Just arrange the fresh strawberry "scales" into all kinds of patterns, then eat with delight.

Strawberry Fish Biscuits

Time: 5 minutes
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy

Materials

  • Several Milk Arrowroot biscuits
  • 50 grams cream cheese
  • 10 fresh strawberries
  • Currants, blueberries or sultanas
  • 1 knife

  • Ingredients for Strawberry Biscuits

    Method

  • Take the Milk Arrowroot biscuits (or any other biscuits - these just have the perfect fishy shape) and carefully spread the cream cheese across one side of each biscuit.

  • Thinly slice the fresh strawberries and arrange the slices on top of the cream cheese in a "scale pattern" and add a "tail" at the back. This is the fun part of the activity and is a bit like putting together a puzzle.

  • Spread on some cream cheese

  • Place the currant, blueberry or sultana on top of the strawberries, to create a fishy "eye" and it's ready to eat. Can you make a whole school of fish? Enjoy.

  • Finished fish
