Find a dark space to conduct this experiment.
Half fill the glass with water, shine the torch through the water. Note the clear and white colours showing.
Add some milk and explain how milk contains proteins and fat molecules. There are particles in the liquid. Just as our atmosphere is full of billions of particles.
How will shining light through particles differ from shining through clear water? Use the torch to find out.
Shine the torch through the glass in different angles and directions. Can you spot the colours of the sunset?
Extend on this experiment by trying various shaped glasses, and different ratios of water and milk.
