Tissue paper covered egg for Easter

This is a lovely sticky activity to decorate eggs for Easter with tissue paper

Time: 10 - 15 minutes plus time to dry
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy

Materials
  • Egg
  • Tissue paper
  • Glue (PVA school glue or similar)
  • Paintbrush

  • Method
  • Hard boil the egg first or if you want to keep it for the future then you can blow the contents first.
  • Cut the tissue paper into small to mid sized pieces.

  • Pieces of tissue paper ready for decorating an egg

  • Paint one side of the egg with glue and stick on some tissue paper, overlapping slightly. We found that the top of the egg box made a good resting place for decorating the egg and it kept any sticky mess contained.

  • Smooth the tissue paper down with extra glue over the top

  • Use the paintbrush to put glue over the tissue paper as well so that it sticks down well. The glue will dry clear so you can use plenty.
  • As you move around the egg, you can add more glue.
  • Cover completely in tissue paper and leave to dry.

  • If you want to go one step further you could even add some mini pom poms at the end to give it an unusual look.

Add more decorations if it takes your fancy. This egg is displayed on milk carton top
