Turn fun collage crafts into a birthday card. The bright colours and different textures make this a one-of-a-kind card to give to someone special.

Materials

Card stock (for the final card)

Paper base for the collage

Collage items - bits of paper, material, magazine pictures, feathers, string, stickers, glitter glue

Glue

Scissors

Printer or writing implement

Method

Set up the collage materials.

We keep a container of scrap paper, fabric and materials from other crafts that are perfect for collages. It is a great way to use up odds and ends and when you are sorting through them, often children remember past crafts

Let the cutting and pasting begin. Toddlers love collages as they can cut or rip and paste to their heart's content and the end result is always exactly what they wanted.

Print your birthday message on card stock. Fold the card and cut out balloon shapes from the front of the card.

After the collage is complete, paste it to the back of the front page of the card. The collage will show through the balloon "windows".

Add balloon string and finish with a personal message to the lucky birthday person.
