Hubble bubble, toil and trouble! Have fun making your own foaming and frothing witch's brew. Let your imaginations go wild as you think up what the potion will do - perhaps it will be a laughter potion or make things invisible?
Time: 15 minutes
Age: Under 5s, 5 to 10s
Level: Easy
Materials
Plastic creatures - we used plastic rats and spiders

Pick up horrible creatures cheaply around Halloween
Method
Mix several drops of green food colouring with some vinegar (we used about 1/3 cup of vinegar).
Add several heaped tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda into a tall glass.
Now for the fun part! Pour the green vinegar into the glass with the bicarbonate of soda. The vinegar will react with the bicarbonate of soda to create an amazing frothy explosion.

My little witch and wizard loved this stage
Pour the green foam into a bowl and add the plastic rats and spiders. Mix up and add some water too.
Scoop the witch's brew into a large jar. My kids enjoyed using a ladle to do this.
Although the ingredients are all safe for kids, I wouldn't recommend anyone actually drinks the potion - better to just pretend!
